The latest season of Bigg Boss 18 has been full of revelations. Speaking about which, actress Shilpa Shirodkar, one of the strongest contestants during this season, made an interesting revelation about an iconic Bollywood number. For this week’s Weekend Ka Vaar, choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan, took up hosting duties and discussed the week in a nutshell, unravelling little details about each contestant’s behaviour. But what surprised us and viewers was Shilpa’s interesting revelation.
By the end of the episode, Shilpa was seen sitting with co-contestants Chum Darang and Karanveer Mehra. During the conversation, Shilpa revealed to the two that Farah Khan had approached her for the iconic song–Chaiyaa Chaiyaa, from Dil Se. Remember the cult favourite dance number featuring Malaika Arora and Shah Rukh Khan. Yes, we’re talking about the same. Speaking to them, Shilpa shared how Farah approached her for the song and suggested she lose weight. After a week or so, Shilpa returned to Farah, as per her instructions, but was eventually rejected for the song.
Revealing to Karanveer and Chum, Shilpa revealed that Farah rejected her for the part and mentioned–”You are too fat for the song.” Wait, what? When asked further about reasons for not getting cast, Shilpa said only Farah and the film’s director Mani Rattan would know why she was rejected for the song. Well, we didn’t know this story!
The song later went to Malaika Arora and well, the rest is history.
