Here’s Why Malaysian Fans Are Unhappy Over G-Dragon’s Concert In Kuala Lumpur!

It’s currently concert season for K-pop fans as many idols are on world tour. Among them is G-Dragon, who recently performed in Kuala Lumpur as part of his Übermensch tour. While his performance was undoubtedly amazing, many Malaysian fans took to social media to express their disappointment. Fans were extremely vocal about their concerns and hoped for it to change. The problems for Malaysian fans started even before the concert, right when tickets first went on sale. The main issues were related to ticket scalping and a large number of foreign buyers purchasing tickets. The concert organiser, Star Planet, tried to fix the scalping problem by releasing a few hundred more tickets. However, this didn’t entirely solve the situation. But what exactly happened inside?

Well, many fans noticed that there were many empty seats even though the concert was supposedly sold out. Fortunately, as the show went on, more people entered and the venue became full.
Another issue that has Malaysian fans angry is that when the K-pop idol tried to talk in Malay, the audience barely reacted. Wondering why? According to local fans, the majority of the audience were foreigners and hardly knew the local language.

Following which, one user made a strong plea for G-Dragon to change his concert organiser for future Bigbang events and added that Malaysian VIPs were even singing his songs outside the stadium. Another user stated that 98% of the fans at the concert were Chinese, and hence there was no response when G-Dragon spoke in Malay, with the hashtag #justiceforMYVIP.
