YouTuber Accused Of Defaming BTS Gets Fined, Label Issues Legal Action Against Potential Suspects
The company announced that they will take strict actions against individuals who infringe the artist's reputation and privacy.

BTS is currently one of the most popular bands in the world. Their global status and fame, unfortunately, also make them vulnerable to continuous attempts at privacy invasions and malicious commentators who aim to harm their reputation. In a recent statement, the group’s agency BigHit Music released a statement announcing that they have taken strict legal action against those who attempt to breach the members’ privacy or defame them on social media platforms. BTS’ Label BigHit Music Warns Legal Action Against Malicious Posters And Home Intruders
On September 29, 2025, Big Hit Music confirmed on Weverse that the agency has taken legal actions against individuals who were suspected of intruding into the BTS members’ homes and those who posted harmful posts targeting the group online. Their statement further stressed the importance of protecting their artists’ rights and privacy.
The company explained that they have taken legal action against individuals identified by BTS’s fans and through BigHit’s own monitoring of South Korean social media platforms such as Naver, TheQuoo, NatePann and more. BigHit revealed that they also keep tabs on international platforms like Instagram and X.

An excerpt from their statement reads, “Acts that defame others, such as slandering artists, using insulting language, or spreading unfounded rumors, are subject to criminal punishment under laws such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.”
Some complaints of defamation and home intrusion that were made last year have been sent to the prosecution. Current suspects of attempted break-ins into the BTS members’ residence have also been identified, and BigHit is working closely with the authorities to get them prosecuted.

BigHit Music has also accused YouTube Taldeok Camp of posting damaging content against BTS. The first court ruling of the case has asked YouTube to pay 76 million KRW in damages to the company. Taldeok has appealed the ruling, and the case is currently ongoing.
