There’s hardly a month where Elvish Yadav is not found embroiled in a controversy but what’s more shocking is that joining him this time is none other than our laughter queen Bharti Singh. A recent report has revealed that Elvish Yadav and Bharti Singh were summoned by the Delhi Police over allegedly promoting an app called Hibox. For the unversed, Hibox is an investment-based scam app which has defrauded people of almost 500 crores as per the official police reports.
Elvish Yadav, Bharti Singh Summoned By Delhi Police
The Delhi police summoned Elvish Yadav and Bharti Singh after almost 500 complaints were registered against the app, which stated that several YouTubers, influencers and other social personalities were influencing people to use this app. Moreover, the complaint list also had names of Saurav Joshi, Abhishek Malhan (aka Fukra Insaan), Purav Jha, Elvish Yadav, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Lakshay Choudhary, Adarsh Singh, Amit (aka Crazy XYZ), and Dilraj Singh Rawat, all of them were issued notices.
The official authorities have also stated that the celebs were using advertisements and promotional activities to lure audiences into investing in the app which guaranteed substantial returns on their investments. According to recent updates, 5 out of the 10 influencers have been summoned by the IFSO. DCP (IFSO) Hemant Tiwari has also revealed that Elvish Yadav and Bharti Singh are among the five summoned individuals, while others will be summoned in the coming days.
Moreover, the Delhi Police has also revealed that over 30,000 people have been duped by the so-called investing Hibox app. The IFSO which is a unit of Special Cells has reportedly arrested the main accused, J. Sivaram, aged 30. The accused is reportedly a resident of Chennai and has served as a director of Hibox’s parent company, Sutrulla Express Private Limited. Police have also seized Rs 18 crore from his multiple bank accounts.

For the unversed, The Hibox smartphone application was launched in February 2024 but was developed in July 2023. Moreover, a police official also revealed that the accused developed the backend of the application and opened the merchant accounts with Easebuzz and PhonePe, and also had front offices in Noida in 2023, before formally launching the app.
