Bhagyashree Feels Intimacy In Modern Films Aren’t Appropriate For Family, Says Stories Can Be Bold Without…

Actress Bhagyashree, who famously starred in Maine Pyaar Kiya with Salman Khan, recently shared her hot take about how today’s films often include “unnecessary” intimate scenes, adding that those scenes contribute very little to the narrative and can be excluded. The actress also mentioned the cinema of the 90s, which was mostly driven by patriarchal characters. Here’s what Bhagyashree mentioned about it!

Bhagyashree On Intimate Scenes In Modern Films

During her conversation with Variety India, Bhagyashree revealed that films reflect society. She shared that back in the 90s, it was the only entertainment, the only outing that gave the family a chance to spend time together. She acknowledged that families have changed, people are more individualistic, and mediums of creative arts have become multifold.

She revealed that it has become impossible to please every type of viewer, adding that movies have split into cliques, genres and more. She expressed genuinely feeling that while realism is in the new market, it is not necessary to show intimacy that makes one “squirm” while sitting with their parents or kids. Bhagyahsree shared, “Stories can be bold, diverse and interesting without being defiant towards society.”

90s Films Were Driven By Patriarchal Characters

During the interview, Bhagyashree recalled the way the film industry operated in the 90s. She mentioned that the films was mostly driven by patriarchal characters and there wasn’t a large space for women to continue acting after marriage because opportunities would diminish after that. She also highlighted that the concept of the married working woman still feels new to some sections of the country, but she also believes that attitudes are slowly changing as more educated women pursue careers.

It’s worth mentioning that Bhagyashree’s new film with Riteish Deshmukh, Raja Shivaji will be released on May 1, and we are really excited to watch it!
