After Single’s Inferno, another Korean dating show, Better Late Than Single, got everyone hooked. From its unique concept to sweet moments, viewers were glued to their screens. However, a scene in the final episode created a stir on the internet. Jeong-mok and Ji-yeon were seen getting close in bed. Some even heard kissing sounds and the next morning, the two woke up in each other’s arms. Even the hosts were left stunned.
Well, the scene has the audience divided. Some thought it was sweet, while others felt it seemed staged and wondered how two people who were single for so long could move so fast.
In response, during a recent interview with iMBC, producer Kim No-eun addressed the controversial moment. She stated that kissing scenes aren’t new to dating shows and mentioned a similar moment in Love After Divorce. She felt this one stood out more because the participants had never been in relationships before.
Kim No-eun shared that she saw the scene as natural. According to her, it was how people in their late 20s might act when feelings develop. During editing, she thought to keep the moment honest and show it unfiltered, as it was a genuine moment between two people starting to connect. Producer Jo Wook-hyung also added further.

He stated that the scene surprised him too. Producer Jo Wook-hyung hadn’t expected such a private moment to unfold so quickly. However, after thinking it through, he understood why it happened and hoped viewers would see it in a positive light. He felt it showed the unpredictable nature of relationships.
