The new installments of these series have turned out to be pretty impressive, Read here for more about it.
This year has been a great one for the OTT platforms. More than the films, I think I’ve enjoyed the long-form storytelling, AKA the web shows. Now, it’s very tricky to like new installments from popular franchises; however, this year, most of them have been quite impressive. And here’s our pick of the international titles that released on Netflix, that we couldn’t get enough of. But in this list, the new standalone series is my favourite. Read on!
Adolescence
Starring Owen Cooper and directed by Philip Barantini, the brilliant show revolves around a 13-year-old school boy arrested after the murder of a girl from the same school. What unfolds next is hard-hitting and a strong mirror of society on how toxicity is deeply embedded in young boys. Fun fact is that every episode of this series was shot in one continuous take. Adolescence is impactful, and has brilliant performances by the entire cast.
Stranger Things S5 Part 1!
Oh the many thoughts we have on this one but well, can we just talk about episode 4 which turned our lives upside down? The new season came with a lot of twists and more are yet to come, however, the character developments in this new seasons have left us amazed. To go back to the world of upside down and witness the horrors of Vecna, we are always up for that!
Emily In Paris S5
Or rather Emily In Rome, I’d say? This is season was so much more satisfying than the last one. And when I say this, I speak for other women too, we loved Sylvie’s messy life this season. Emily’s life, both professional and personal were charming in Rome, and now can we just have her ending up with Gabriel, please. Another much-loved show by the Indian audience.

When Life Gives You Tangerines!
This show received a lot of love from the Indian fans, and well K-Dramas are anyway very popular in our country. The show is a slice of life about Aesun and Gwansik’s eternal romance and some family drama too. The show is heartbreaking, so keep your tissues handy, and I am sure, you must have come across the tons of memes on the show which is proof of its popularity.

Wednesday Season 3
Another much-anticipated show in India this year. The show had a lot of surprises for us especially Wednesday swapping bodies with roommate Enid. The 360 degree change in their aesthetics got us intrigued. Also, the Lady Gaga cameo was not on our 2025 bingo cards!
Squid Games S3
Another interesting show that we cannot ever get enough off. This season was engaging with Gi Hun returning to the deadly game, and what unfolds next. Each episode had several surprise elements that kept us on the edge of our seats.
K-POP Demon Hunters
This animated film follows the lives of a fictional K-pop group called HUNTR/X. But they are way more cool and fun because they secretly battle the demons and protect the world with the power of music. The show is visually appealing and the songs are top-notch! It beautifully blends elements of traditional Korean culture and the world of modern K-pop.
