About Subhashree Ganguly
On Sunday, December 14, Subhashree Gnaguly took to her Instagram and shared pictures of herself from the GOAT India Tour Event. She also shared two pictures with Lionel Messi and wrote, “Represented the Bengali Film Fraternity at The G.O.A.T India Tour @leomessi,” in the caption. This post, however, angered many netizens, including political leaders, who accused her of having insensitivity towards fans. Subhashree’s husband, filmmaker and TMC MLA Raj Chakraborty, has since defended his wife. On Sunday, he commented on social media, “Thousands of people who paid a high price for tickets were denied the opportunity to see their hero.” Her ‘crime’ was to share a photo with Messi. Does being an actress preclude her from being a Messi fan?” Raj also questioned the role of the media, pointing out that, despite the fact that numerous journalists were present, Subhashree had received disproportionate attention due to her popular profile.
