The Bengali film industry lost one of its good stars. The accidental demise of the Bengali actor Rahul Banerjee happened while he was on a shoot in Odisha. As per the reports, the reason for his death is said to be due to drowning. His wife, actor Priyanka Sarkar, has issued an official statement. Read here to know more about it.
Bengali Actor’s Sudden Demise
According to news reports, Bengali actor Rahul Banerjee was in Odisha for the shoot of a Bengali TV serial, Bhole Baba Par Karega. The shoot had been in progress since Sunday morning, and, going by NDTV reports, the shoot ended by afternoon. After which, actor Rahul Banerjee headed for a swim in the deep-sea water, and was not accompanied by anyone. He did not return for some time, and the production team was immediately alerted, and they began looking for him. The technicians and crew on the scene somehow managed to pull the actor out of the water, and he was immediately taken to the nearby hospital. But according to the news reports, Rahul Banerjee was declared dead in the evening at around 6:10 PM.
An official statement was later posted by his wife, actor Priyanka Sarkar. In this, she called it a time of deep pain and grief. She also requested privacy during tough times. She also asked the media and colleagues to maintain boundaries and asked for support. Here’s the note. Many of his colleagues also expressed utmost pain and grief over this loss.

Rahul Banerjee and Priyanka Sarkar are parents to a son. The actor was seen in films like Chirodini Tumi Je Amar (2008) and Byomkesh Gotro (2018), among others.
