BTS just made their comeback with a studio album titled Arirang. The album has 14 tracks, with all members involved in its creation and it is doing very well on charts and going viral across social media. In a recent interview, HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk praised V’s work on the song Into The Sun. However, one comment he made left many fans disappointed. Read on to find out all about it.
A new Billboard interview with HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk has upset many BTS fans. He spoke about the Arirang album and praised V for the song Into the Sun. Bang Si-hyuk called it a special track that showed immense growth in Kim Taehyung’s songwriting. But he also said that in the past, V had not been heavily involved in writing songs for BTS albums.
In the Billboard interview, Bang Si-hyuk only emphasized that Taehyung did not participate too much in the album production in the past. I made a form for Taehyung to compose songs, which is not the reason for Bang Si-hyuk to talk nonsense in the interview. pic.twitter.com/PAh1TDhSUK

This statement left a lot of ARMYs shocked. They pointed out that Kim Taehyung already has more than 20 official songwriting credits. Fans listed many of his past works, which include Stigma from the 2016 album Wings, solo songs like Scenery and Winter Bear in 2019, and Sweet Night for the drama Itaewon Class. They also mentioned tracks such as Blue & Grey, Christmas Tree, Fri(end)s, and Winter Ahead.
BTS V also played a significant role in his solo album, Layover. In 2023, he helped with writing, composing, and even planning the full concept of the album. Many fans felt Bang Si-hyuk’s words did not give enough credit to Kim Taehyung’s years of effort and hard work.
Just like that, anger spread quickly on social media after the interview. Fans shared lists of V’s contributions and defended his hard work. They called the comment unfair and said it ignored Kim Taehyung’s hard work from the early days. Some fans even felt the company was trying to change the story about each member’s role.
