BAFTA Award 2026: Late Actor Dharmendra Receives Honour Alongside Catherine O’Hara, Rob Reiner, And More!

The BAFTA Awards 2026 took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London. It’s currently the topic of discussion all over the internet. This year was special for India too. Apart from the big win, Alia Bhatt’s presence and more, late actor Dharmendra was also honoured at the BAFTA Award 2026.
He-Man Honoured At The BAFTA Awards
The legendary star Dharmendra received an honour in the Memorium segment at the BAFTA Awards. Along with other Hollywood stars, Dharmendra also featured on this list. During the segment, Jessie Ware performed ‘The Way We Were’ with pictures and videos of some late actors featuring on the screen. Along with stars like- Robert Duvall, Catherine O’Hara, Val Kilmer, Rob Reiner and Tom Stoppard, among others, Dharmendra’s picture also showed up on the screen. It was quite an emotional moment.
But, this is not the first time when an Indian actor has received this honour at the BAFTA Awards. Before actors like Irrfan, Rishi Kapoor, and Dilip Kumar also received honours for their excellent contribution to Cinema. BAFTA also honoured singer Lata Mangeshkar in 2022 for her everlasting influence on film music.

For the unversed, Dharmendra was last seen in Agastya Nanda’s Ikkis directed by Sriram Raghavan. Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025.

This year the Manipuri film Boong by Laksmipriya Devi won in the Best Kid And Family Film category. This was India’s first win at the BAFTA Awards. Even Alia Bhatt was one of the presenters at the award ceremony this year and she present for the Best Non-English Language film category. The actor addressing the attendees in Hindi won hearts on the internet.
