Exclusive: Ayesha Khan Highlights How Social Media Has Normalised Harassment: “People Feel Free To Say Anything”
Very true!

While social media has been an absolute boon for many people, it has also opened doors to negativity, sly comments and derogatory remarks by unverified accounts towards women. Talking about the same is Bigg Boss 17 fame Ayesha Khan, who arrived on the latest episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist. During her interaction with the host, Khan spoke about the number of people who talk shit about her on social media.
What bothers Khan the most is how harassment like this has been normalised. Mentioning some instances she said–” I can show you on my tags, on how people tag you on vulgar videos. So, even on social media, you can’t do anything on your own will.” When asked about the techniques she uses to go past such comments, Khan said–”On social media, I’ve learnt one thing that just read anything. My father told me once, that you’re on a social media platform, you post and let people have whatever opinion they want to over it. It is a public platform.

You know and your family knows what you’re doing, so rest doesn’t matter.” We totally agree with Ayesha. The bigger the name, there are mouths ready to pounce at the celebrity with their free advice and dirty comments. Besides this, Khan also talked about the many traumatising instances of Eve teasing and casting couch.
