Avika Gor On How Intimate Scenes Are Shot In Movies

Avika Gor revealed, “My experience about shooting intimate scenes—trust me, it’s very boring. You might feel it’s very steamy, and maze ho rahe hai, it’s boring!” When asked about the intimacy coordinator on set, she replied, “The best part was that in our set, we had Krishna Bhatt, who’s been an assistant director for her father (Vikram Bhatt) for all the Emraan Hashmi movies. She has seen how it happens on set, how she is supposed to make people comfortable, and how it is supposed to be done.” She further added, “Vikram (Bhatt) sir is such a professional that during these scenes, if we see that the actors are shy, it’s more likely that he is more shy than all of us. So to deal with a team on such scenes, it becomes very easy because everyone feels like, Just do what is needed and move on to the next scene.”

The Balika Vadhu actor confessed, “So when it comes to intimate scenes, and from what I have experienced, the most important thing is to understand how much we are okay with it. For example, if you consider any of my movies, there’s not a lot of nudity where my body parts are shown a lot. Of course, there’s lovemaking and a lot of smooching going on, but my body remains largely hidden. That’s the director’s way of showing, and the discussion happens very early, even before you kind of sign up for it.”

“I have troubled my directors a lot and asked them to give it written. I want everything to be very clear on how much is visible, if my shoulder is visible, tell me my shoulder is visible. I want that clarity. It also gives you a lot of comfort because you know what’s going to happen, and of course, it’s written. But there’s no clarity on how long the kissing lasts or its intensity. It happens with a lot of discussion on the set. I also remember our director telling us very clearly that the kiss would begin from the neck and the person would show us. Once you get the clarity, you just have to follow the instructions,” said Avika Gor.
