Female villains in TV serials are often seen in a negative light, and many viewers mistakenly believe that the actresses who play these roles are similar in real life. When a woman portrays a villain, she is usually shown as manipulative, selfish, or cruel and the audience often relates these characteristics with the actor. Talking about negative roles was Ashwini Kalsekar in the latest episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist with host Siddharth Aalambayan.

Ashwini Kalsekar On Negative Roles
In an exclusive interview, Ashwini Kalsekar stated, “When I got better, my mother arrived at the hospital and asked me to stop doing negative roles.” Ashwini was shocked and responded, “Then how will I feed myself and asked her why.”To which her mother responded, “You get cursed a lot and hence you fell ill.” However, Ashwini’s response was spectacular! She said, “Those curses are my blessings.”
Ashwini Kalsekar further added, “Half of the time, after watching the serial my mother used to tell me that you behaved very badly with Bani and you shouldn’t have stooped so low. My mother only used to say that. But at the same time, one woman from Gujarat told me, what you are doing with Bani is correct. This is how you should behave. Throw her out! Apparently, she had the same setup, she was divorced and she was staying with her brother who was taking care of her and her kids. And when he got married, bhabhi came and probably threw her out. So, she hates characters like Bani. She said I am Jigyasa who is trying to fight and told me I was doing it correctly. Earlier, people used to get so attached to TV serials and even felt relatable with the characters.”
