Asha Negi On Dealing With Casting Couch
In a recent chat actor Asha Negi was asked if she ever experienced the casting couch in the industry, to which she said, “When I was 22, at that time there used to be coordinators in the television industry and there I met this random guy. While we were chatting, he was trying to brainwash me into thinking that the casting couch was the only way I could make it into the industry. He was not saying it directly but was trying to brainwash me into thinking that. ” Negi further added, “I don’t remember what he said exactly but I remember him mentioning that all the big stars in the television industry have done it. Even though he wasn’t saying it directly, I could sense he was talking about casting couch.”

The actor further revealed, “After this, I also told him if this is the way to make it in the industry then I am not interested. And even though I was acting very confident in front of him, I was very scared on the inside. So, that’s how I tackled this guy and after he left, I went to my friend and told him that this happened to me, but all these things are so normalised that the reaction was also very normal and not surprising so that’s a sad thing.” Well, all these things sound so scary to us and we wish no one had to deal with it!
