In recent events, veteran singer Asha Bhosle faced a health scare and was admitted to the ICU of Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. For the unversed, the 92-year-old had cardiac and respiratory issues and was not keeping well since the past few months. Reports suggest that the singer is currently critical. The singer’s family has also issued a statement about her hospitalisation, and further details are awaited.
Asha Bhosle Hospitalised
On Saturday, April 11, Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle took to her X (Previously Twitter) account and wrote, “My grandmother, due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively.” Further details about the veteran singer’s health are yet to be released.
After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to his X account and shared his worry about the same, while extending wishes for her recovery. He wrote, “Deeply concerned to hear that Asha Bhosle Ji has been admitted to hospital. Praying for her good health and a speedy recovery.”
Asha Bhosle is known as one of the most successful singers in Hindi cinema. In her career spanning over eight decades, she has recorded songs for films and albums in several Indian languages and received awards. She was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. She was honoured with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honour in the country, in 2008. The singer sang chartbusters such as Dil Cheez Kya Hai, Inn Aankhon Ki Masti Ke, Ye Kya Jagah Hai Doston, Jab Bhi Milti Hai, and Justuju Jiski Thi.
