The victory celebration at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium took a deadly turn as 11 people lost their lives in a stampede. On behalf of RCB, Anush Sharma shared a message of condolence for the victims and expressed her grief for the lives lost.
The entire RCB team arrived in Bengaluru to celebrate their win. A victory parade was announced for the team, held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, things got out of control, and a stampede broke out, resulting in the deaths of 11 people. What started as a moment of celebration quickly became a tragic event.
Anushka Sharma’s Statement About The Stadium Stampede
Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to share an official statement from the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. The team mourned the loss of lives and extended their condolences to the families of the victims. The posted statement read, “We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team’s arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us.”

RCB also added that after becoming aware of the situation, they have amended their program and followed the advice and guidance of the local city administration. Anushka reposted this message with three broken heart emojis.
Fans took to the comments section to extend their support towards Anushka, Virat, and the entire RCB team. Virat Kohli also shared the same statement made by RCB on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, “At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted.”
People trapped in the stampede shared their horrifying experience. One fan revealed how they were not allowed to go back even when the seats were full. All the gates were very crowded, and more and more people kept rushing in. Prime Minister Modi also expressed his grief in a statement, calling the event a heartrending tragedy.
