As the buzz builds for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’s comeback with Smriti Irani, many have been comparing it with Rupali Ganguly’s Anupamaa. Amid this rising chatter, the latter has finally addressed the online pitting against the two women-centric shows. Rupali Ganguly On Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
In a chat with Telly Chakkar, Rupali Ganguly called the show ‘nostalgia’ and said that she was proud that the comeback was airing on their channel. She said that she couldn’t understand the comparisons between Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahi Thi and Anupamaa. This chatter sparked after producer Ekta Kapoor reacted to a social media post hinting at a rivalry between the two shows. In a chat with Brut, she said that she found this chatter unnecessary and distasteful.

Ekta Kapoor said, “She [Rupali] is such a big star. Anupamaa, the show, and its creator, Rajan, have done what nobody else could do in the last seven years. They will continue to be number 1,” Kapoor mentioned, how many times female-led shows and actors are often compared. According to her, women being pitted against each other is unnecessary and uncalled for.
Meanwhile, Kyunki Saas premiered on July 29, giving us a major dose of nostalgia. Politician-turned-actor Smriti Irani’s return as Tulsi Virani made everyone go back to the old days and relish each moment. Her performing arti outside the Virani house instantly transported the viewers to the golden days of TV. Many new faces like Ritik (Aman Gandhi), Angad (Rohit Suchanti), and Paridhi (Shagun Sharma) were introduced.
