Indian actor Ankit Siwach is set to introduce his new project Madam Driver to the world, with the film set to release at the acclaimed New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) in 2025. Having played intense character CBI officer Bhagwan Ramteke in web series Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs, Siwach now plays a different type of role, one that’s based on everyday strength and quiet resolve.
What Is Madam Driver About?
For the unversed, Madam Driver is part of an anthology series about women’s stories in small-town India. The movie is set in Gujarat and tracks the path of Devika Dixit, a middle-aged woman who finds out how to drive, much to the dismay of everyone around her. The story follows the inner journey of the mail lead as she comes to terms with loss, tragedy, and finally, transformation. It’s a soft but strong story about redemption and resiliency.
Indrajit Nattoji directs the movie Madam Driver, which features veteran actress Kitu Gidwani in a central role. The cast of Madam Driver also includes Ankit Siwach in a supporting role, as well as Bhavna Pani. Hassan is another character who has his own tale of sorrow and suffering, whose path crosses Devika’s unexpectedly, which takes the story forward in the movie. The NYIFF premiere places Madam Driver alongside those movies that happen to have big stars such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Manoj Bajpayee, providing it with a worldwide stage where it can reach out to the masses.
