While she showed her inked finger and urged others to vote, the outing went out of hand after several netizens called her out for not standing in the queue outside the polling booth. In a now viral video, Hema Malini was seen speaking to the media when a citizen confronted her for getting special treatment. The man said, “We have been here for the last 60 years, and there is chaos here for the first time. I have been here since 7.45 AM, and it was at 9.30 AM when I voted. Nobody is answerable. Nobody is accountable! Not even a local worker is there.”
Amid this, Malini quickly ushered someone to handle the situation. She then told the reporter that everyone must come to vote like her in the morning itself, since she had a lot of work later in the day. Apart from her, many Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Vishal Dadlani, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sanya Malhotra, Sachin Tendulkar, John Abraham, and more came in to cast votes for the BMC elections in Mumbai.

During a recent chat with SCREEN, she opened up about her late husband, Dharmendra and said that she had not watched his last film, Ikkis. The actress said that she had to go to Mathura when it got released and that she had work there. Malini also added that it would be too overwhelming and that her daughters, Esha and Ahan, agreed.
