Ananya Panday Says Changing Laws Is An Important Step Toward Women’s Safety Amid Rising Crime Rate

Actress Ananya Panday is one of those few actors from the population of new age stars, who speaks her mind. Be it body shaming, negative body image or more, may be not enough, but Panday has an opinion on most things. In recent times, crimes against women have rapidly increased in India and there’s so much discourse around it. Speaking about the same, Panday, who is currently promoting her next project–Call Me Bae, shared her opinion on the rising crime rate against women.

Speaking to PTI, the actress mentioned that times have mostly been “dark” for women and that one needs to talk less and act more to change this climate for women. Speaking about the latest crimes against women and the rising rate, the actress shared her take and suggested the need for stricter laws. She added–”The more important step is laws changing, and the government making actionable changes to this.”

She also shed light on the current political climate of the country and said it is important to put efforts in the right direction. Ananya’s response comes amid the recent case of a trainee doctor’s rape and murder case in Kolkata, that shook the country.
