Internet Reacts To Ananya Panday’s Call Me Bae

Call Me Bae’s story revolves around Bella Bae Chowdhary, played by Ananya Panday whose life takes a huge turn as she goes from a rich heiress to a hustler. During this period, she realised that knowledge and fashion sense were more important than her expensive jewellery. However, despite being broke, she stays strong and starts working in Mumbai’s newsrooms. It’s an interesting change as we get to see Ananya Panday in two different roles- rich heiress and “struggling” journalist.

Just like every film or series release, Redditors came forward and shared their views on her OTT debut, performance and storyline. One Reddit user said, “Skinny fair girls exist and Indians go gaga over them. She legit looks like a girl I’d see sipping an oat milk matcha latte in a Bandra coffee shop.” Whereas, another user added, “Yeah, I agree with you. Went into the show completely blind and wasn’t expecting much but it was good! It wasn’t groundbreaking or anything but a very feel-good, leave your brains at home kinda thing. I enjoyed it and AP fits the role, was pretty easy on the eyes. People commenting OP is PR should give the show a try once. Twitter users also shared their views and wrote, “Whoever thought of casting Vir Das as an unhinged sellout nut job cartoon of a TV news anchor in Call Me Bae will forever have my respect.” Additionally, another user wrote, “More like CALL ME BAEKAR.” What are your thoughts on this series?
