The Malayalam actor Shwetha Menon has taken over the position of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists AMMA’s first woman President, and it’s a huge feat in the actor’s professional life. However, amid this, a veteran actor, Kollam Thulasi, has made a very misogynistic remark about the actress. Later, in his defence, the actor said that he was joking, as per the reports. What Did Kollam Thulasi Say?
Senior actor Kollam Thulasi often grabs eyeballs for his questionable remarks, and he has yet again found himself in another controversy. After Shwetha Menon became AMMA’s first woman President, Kollam Thulasi’s misogynistic comment came during a recent event. As per an NDTV report, the actor said that some people say women will rule, but he believed men would rule. He further opined that women should always be beneath men and that men should always be above men.
However, when his remarks got a lot of criticism, Kollam Thusali changed his stance and said that was just joking. For the unversed, the Hema Committee report had also highlighted the condition of female actors in Malayalam film industry, and Kollam Thulasi’s comments has once again raised concerns about the same.

On the other hand, apart from Shwetha Menon, Cuckoo Parameswaran has become the General Secretary of the organisation. Shwetha Menon also faced some serious allegations in which a case was registered against her for allegedly acting in adult content films. And these allegations had come when she was contesting for the AMMA’s President elections.
