American pop star Kesha showed support for NJZ, f.k.a. NewJeans, in the wake of the recent court decision over the group’s contentious contract situation involving ADOR. A singer who had earlier fought her own lengthy legal battle over artistic control and personal safety, Kesha recently took to social media to convey a heartfelt message for the members. This has sparked a conversation about artist rights and industry power among the fans.

America Singer Sends NewJeans Support Amidst Their Legal Dispute With ADOR

The intense contract dispute between the girl group NewJeans and their former agency, ADOR, has made waves across the global entertainment scene. On October 30, the ruling of the Seoul Central District Court confirmed the validity of ADOR’s contract with the group. The decision comes a year after the legal feud began when the NewJeans members tried terminating their contracts last November in 2024, citing loss of trust, and then rebranded themselves as NJZ.

As reactions flowed in from all corners within K-pop communities, American singer-songwriter Kesha chipped in. On X (formerly Twitter), she wrote, “My heart is with you NewJeans,” sending encouragement to the members during their ongoing struggle.

Kesha is an American singer known for her multiple hit songs, such as ‘TikTok’, ‘Die Young’, and ‘Blow’. In 2014, Kesha had opened up about her personal experience of being exploited as an artist. The singer accused her longtime producer, Dr Luke, of emotional and s*xual abuse and wanted to be released from her contract. The case was, however, dismissed on technical grounds, and Kesha settled it outside the court in 2023.
