What Aly Goni Said
During a chat with Filmygyan, Aly Goni said, “Mujhe death threats aa rahe hain bhar-bhar ke. Mere emails bhare hue hain, mere comments bhare hue hain. Log tweet kar rahe hain ki mere liye FIR karo, for what?” The actor said that the action was taken against him because he is a Muslim, but also pointed out how many Hindus also don’t celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. Aly didn’t understand the hate that his girlfriend, Jasmine Bhasin or his mother were facing.
During the same chat, he also clarified that his silence didn’t come from a place of disrespect but confusion. Aly Goni mentioned that it was his first time attending the celebrations and didn’t know what to do. He stated that he was a random person and would say anything that came to his mind, which is why he stayed silent to not offend anyone. He also mentioned that in his religion, prayers aren’t offered, but they do Namaaz. The actor ended the conversation by saying that the Quran teaches them to respect and celebrate other religions too.
