Famous television actor Aly Goni was recently under fire after not chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya” during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. He was standing while his girlfriend, Jasmine Bhasin and friend Nia Sharma in a clip that went viral on social media, grabbing the actor major backlash for being ‘disrespectful.’ But now, he has clarified his hate and said that his hate stemmed from confusion. Aly Goni addressed the online hate about the viral clip during a conversation with Filmygyan. He said that he didn’t understand why he got hate for that clip from the celebrations. “I didn’t even realise it. I was lost in my thoughts. I never imagined something like this could create such a big issue. This was my first time attending Ganpati celebrations,” he said. Aly stated that his silence stemmed from confusion as he didn’t want to do anything wrong.

He was very ‘careful’ during the Ganpati celebrations because he said he was very random and would say anything. This is what made him insecure about participating, fearing he might offend someone. Aly Goni clarified that praying is not allowed in his religion, and the only belief is Nazam. He mentioned that the Quran teaches them to respect everyone and their religions.

For the unversed, the video featured Aly Goni standing with his girlfriend Jasmine Bhasin and others who were chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya.” While Jasmine was seen urging her boyfriend to join the celebrations, he hesitated.
