Their love journey started in 2009, when they met at a party held by a mutual acquaintance. They met again at a nightclub a year later, and this time their friendship was stronger. Jay had previously stated that Mahhi was his first girlfriend. On December 31, 2009, the actor proposed to Mahhi, thus commencing their relationship. Tara, the couple’s biological daughter, was born in 2019, after they fostered Rajveer and Khushi in 2017.
