Samay Raina, a popular comedian known for his unfiltered humour, is currently embroiled in legal issues tied to his appearance on the controversial episode of India’s Got Latent. The episode, which sparked outrage on social media, features a moment where fellow judge Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment about parental s*x. The remark ignited a wave of backlash from netizens, leading to calls for a ban on Allahbadia. Despite issuing an apology, Allahbadia and other members of the judging panel, including Samay, were summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for questioning.
While Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani complied with the summons and appeared before the authorities, Samay requested an extension due to his ongoing tour in North America. His initial request for a video conference appearance was denied, and he was asked to provide his statement by February 18. However, he missed that deadline. Now, a second summons has been issued, with Samay required to appear before the authorities by March 19.
Samay Raina’s US Tour and Boston Show
Amid the legal drama, Samay is finishing up his US and Canada tour, which has been a major highlight of his career. His final show is set to take place in Boston on March 18, starting at 6:30 PM EDT. The show is being held at 543 Columbia Rd, MA 02125. Touted as an evening of “raw unfiltered laughter,” the comedian’s performance is expected to showcase his signature bold humor and sharp wit. The show description emphasizes that Samay’s comedy is unapologetic, offering an unscripted, unfiltered night of entertainment for fans.
Samay’s Legal Trouble Deepens
Despite being summoned earlier in February, Samay’s absence during the initial investigation prompted further scrutiny. Authorities now insist on his physical presence for the upcoming investigation, meaning that he may have to deal with the legal matter as soon as his tour concludes. The controversy surrounding the episode, especially regarding the lewd comment made by Allahbadia, has clearly taken a toll on Samay’s career, putting his ongoing commitments and professional future in jeopardy.
