A petition against BTS Suga, recently appeared online. On June 23, a request titled “Request for sanction on restriction of appearance on KBS regarding Suga’s DUI” was posted on a public bulletin board for the broadcasting company KBS. The person who submitted the petition asked KBS to review and consider penalties for Suga concerning his past driving under the influence incident.
Petition To Ban BTS Suga’s Broadcast Appearance
According to Koreaboo’s reports, the petitioner expressed worry that allowing Suga to appear on television with such influence could make people take drunk driving less seriously. They mentioned that KBS did not hold a review committee after the incident because the investigation results were not yet made public.
Suga finished his military service on June 21, 2025, and his fine was officially confirmed on September 27, 2024. Furthermore, the petitioner asked KBS to hold a review committee soon to maintain viewer trust and fulfil its duty as a public broadcasting company.
Last year, Suga was ordered to pay a large fine of 15,000,000 Korean won, which is about $11,007.65 USD, for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated. As per reports, his blood alcohol level was high enough to cause his licence to be revoked. The petitioner added that drunk driving is a very serious crime that can directly harm others and also pointed out that Suga is a public figure who greatly influences young people.

On the other hand, after completing his military service, Suga spoke openly about his time away and addressed the DUI controversy. He showed deep regret for his actions and thanked fans for their patience.
He expressed sadness for upsetting fans and apologised to his fellow group members, who he felt might have been burdened by the situation.
