Alia Bhatt Recalls Being Trolled During Postpartum Journey. Can We Leave Women And Their Bodies Alone?
Alia Bhatt shares how she lost weight during her postpartum journey after giving birth to her daughter Raha.

Postpartum still remain one of the least talked about topics when it comes to women. While this process may alter a woman’s body, it significantly changes her physical appearance. This process is not the same for everyone. Some may find it comparatively easy to deal with, and for others, it’s nothing less than a death sentence. Talking about the same, Alia Bhatt candidly talked about how she dealt with postpartum and the cost she had to pay as a public figure.
Alia Bhatt Opens Up About Dealing With Postpartum
Bhatt spoke about this when she appeared on Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle alongside Varun Dhawan on the episode that aired on October 2. When the conversation about pregnancy sparked, the Udta Punjab star did not hesitate to reveal her experience with postpartum.
Bhatt stated that after she gave birth to her and Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter, Raha, she did gain a bit of weight. The actress revealed that she breastfed her child, which burned a lot of calories. Additionally, she also ate “clean.” It helped her lose the weight she had put on during pregnancy rather quickly.

But this came with a price. The actress reflected that at the time, a picture of hers came out and people trolled her for the same. The Gangubai star recalled the trolls saying, “she has done this through unnatural process” and questioning why Bhatt has to lose weight that “quickly” adding, “It’s fine, take your time Alia.” She mentioned, seeing that and going, “Oh no, it just happened naturally this way.”
Conversations On Postpartum Are Essential
Coming on such a show and talking about the postpartum journey takes a lot, so kudos to the actress for voicing her experience! Since it has gone out in the mainstream media, more discussions regarding postpartum are expected to spark on social media.
Because this topic is either not given much importance or considered taboo, many men, especially women, are uneducated on the same. Postpartum does not show mercy to every woman who has given birth. By talking about such things, we hope that the awareness about its consequences and solutions is increased.
