In a serious turn of events, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt’s ex-personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, was arrested by the Juhu police on Tuesday, July 8. She has been accused of fraud, forgery, and allegedly stealing more than Rs 76 Lakhs from the actor and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Production Pvt Ltd. Shetty was arrested in Bengaluru, nearly five months after the complaint was filed against her.

Alia Bhatt’s Ex-PA Arrested

Vedika Prakash Shetty reportedly forged Alia Bhatt’s signature to withdraw funds from the production house’s accounts to her own over a period of two years. According to News18, she has been accused of stealing a hefty Rs 76,90,892 from Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd, as well as from Bhatt’s account between 2023 and 20225. After this, a complaint was filed against Vedika by Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, in February, alleging financial misconduct. An FIR was filed, and an investigation was underway.

As per HT, a team of Mumbai Police tracked down the ex-PA and arrested her in Bengaluru. They are now analysing her bank accounts and financial records to understand the alleged crime. Neither Alia Bhatt nor her team has issued any statement on the controversy so far.

Who Is Vedika Prakash Shetty?

Vedika Shetty was Alia Bhatt’s personal assistant for two years until last year. She was responsible for the actor’s personal and economic affairs, including monitoring the operations of her production company. Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd was founded by the actor in 2021, and Darlings on Netflix was the first film they produced, starring Bhatt, Vijay Varma, and Shefali Shah.
