In a recent turn of events, the internet is bashing a Pakistan-based clothing line called Wajayesha Official after they shared pictures of Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt in their ethnic dresses. Though the pictures were altered, eagle-eyed fans were quick to call it out after the brand shared some pictures of her in colourful clothes on their Instagram account. Pakistani Label Uses Alia Bhatt’s Pictures
Their post was captioned as, “Even Alia Bhatt likes our pure sheesha silk collection!! Colour can be customised, book your order now.” The pictures are not from an official photoshoot. They had been digitally altered with AI to put Alia Bhatt’s face and toso on their pure sheesha silk collection. The series of pictures was edited from several of the actor’s appearances, including when she walked for the L’Oréal Paris runway in 2024. Various of her poses and jewellery sets, like chokers, have been borrowed from her photoshoot in Sabyasachi. Others were inspired by her at the Gucci show at Milan Fashion Week in February 2026.
While the brand thought this was a good idea, many on the internet did not agree. They started claiming that the label was using the actor’s pictures without her consent for advertising. Many took to the comment section and wrote, “Does Alia even know about this photoshoot?” The brand defended itself by saying, “Viral karein please ki unku bhi pata chal jaye.” When one user warned that the actor would sue them, they denied saying that she would not. After this, her fans started tagging her to inform her about the copyright infringement.
