Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi Summoned By Pune Court In Jolly LLB 3 Case; Here’s Why
Actor Akshay Kumar, director Subhash Kapoor, and actor Arshad Warsi have found themselves in legal issues!
Actor Akshay Kumar, director Subhash Kapoor, and actor Arshad Warsi have found themselves in legal issues regarding their forthcoming film Jolly LLB 3. The trio has been served summons by a civil court in Pune after a petition was submitted saying that the film negatively portrays the judiciary and lawyers.

The case was instituted by advocate Wajed Rahim Khan, who took umbrage at the representation of advocates and judges in the teaser of the film. The teaser, in his opinion, is disrespectful to the legal fraternity and may mislead the general public regarding the judiciary. In response to his appeal, the court has directed Akshay, Arshad, and Kapoor to personally appear before the court on October 28 at 11 am.
Addressing the media, Khan said he went to court because, in his opinion, the teaser lowers the dignity of lawyers. He stressed that the legal profession should be given respect and thus sought legal relief. His grievance was initially filed in 2024 shortly after the teaser was launched.
The controversy comes at a time when Jolly LLB 3 is picking momentum with the audience. The movie reunites Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, both of whom portrayed the eccentric lawyer “Jolly” in previous sequels. Whereas Warsi featured in the inaugural 2013 movie, Akshay headlined the 2017 sequel, which became a blockbuster. The third installment will find them sharing screen space for the first time as competing lawyers.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced under Star Studio 18, the courtrom comedy is scheduled to come out on September 19, 2025. Considering the developments in the law, however, it will be interesting to see whether the film has to overcome more challenges before release.

The Jolly LLB franchise has both reached critical and commercial success in the past, with the first one having been acclaimed for its witty humor and courtroom drama, and the second having attained huge box office success.
