During her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India at the Red Sea Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai spoke on how motherhood defined her as much as her acting career. The actress expressed that she isn’t insecure about signing a film as she is very busy taking care of her daughter, Aradhya and being with her husbandAbhishek Bachchan. For Rai, insecurities have never been a driving force to do things in her career.
However, she mentioned that a lot of the time, people around one can try and get into their heads, which can sometimes propel certain decisions. When she entered the film industry after winning the Miss World crown, Asihwarya Rai explained how life became all about her ‘grand launch’. She recalled veteran director Mani Ratnam telling her that Iruvar, her debut film, was not about launching her but about the story it represented. She was amazed by this statement and expressed wanting to act on it.
Reflecting on the time when she did Devdas, the actress revealed that after its success, people grew curious about her next big project, and how she ended up doing Rituparno Ghosh’s directorial Choker Bali because she liked the story. Aishwarya added that this has nothing to do with one being predictable, but the path that resonates the most with that person. The Guzarish star expressed her gratitude for coming this far in her career and also acknowledged fans’ love and support.
