Forget The North-South Debate, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Is Just Glad People Are Embracing Cinema From Across The Country

Over time I guess we all as audiences of cinema have been acknowledging the plethora of choices in this field. For me, I believe the OTT platforms have really added to the perspective of my taste in films. I no longer choose films based on the language because we have subtitles, which does not even hamper our movie-watching experience. Because of this, my horizons are not limited to Bollywood or Hollywood films. And I think this is a general case for most of the Indian audience now. There are no barriers even when it comes to the different languages of the country, mainly the films from the South. Actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is also of the same opinion and she recently shared that during a press conference for her new film Ponniyin Selvan-1.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was posed with the question on the debate of North and South movies, and the actress really framed her answer well. In fact, most of us will agree with what she has to say about this. Aishwarya called this the “perfect time” for cinema. She said that the audience has got greater accessibility in terms of the movies and this has been made possible even for the artists in this business. The Ponniyin Selvan actress also backed her statement with the recent hits given by the South Indian film industry like RRR, Pushpa- The Rise, and KGF. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also added that viewers are accepting movies of all kinds with open arms and there are no language barriers anymore, as per the news.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s perspective on this debate has clarity. It is definitely the case now as the viewers no more care about languages or actors, what has become the criteria is content, and we have more than enough of it, so why restrict ourselves? Also, I think it’s time we stop creating borders of North and South when it comes to an art form. It is something that should be acknowledged and appreciated, and we are on the right path to achieving this inclusivity.
