Aditya Chopra’s Dhoom franchise is set to make a grand return, and fans have been eagerly anticipating news about the much-talked-about Dhoom 4. After several years of speculation, it appears that the film is finally moving forward with some exciting updates where Ranbir Kapoor has been cast as the lead. The Dhoom franchise, known for its thrilling action sequences and stylish heist plots, has been a staple in Bollywood’s action landscape since its debut in 2004.
Ranbir Kapoor In Dhoom 4
According to recent reports, Dhoom 4 has officially entered its pre-production phase under the guidance of Aditya Chopra at Yash Raj Films (YRF). Chopra has always envisioned the Dhoom series as a cutting-edge cinematic experience, and it seems the latest film will be no different. This instalment is being developed with a fresh approach to align with modern audiences, promising to raise the stakes even higher than its predecessors.
In a major casting update, it’s reported that Ranbir Kapoor will take on the lead role in Dhoom 4. Known for his versatile performances, Ranbir is expected to bring a new dimension to the role, marking his first foray into the action-heist genre. This will also be a significant departure for Kapoor, who is set to portray a character with a negative shade, much like the previous iconic Dhoom villains. The discussions between Ranbir and the Dhoom team have been ongoing for a while, and it seems he’s now officially on board.
While Dhoom 4 is expected to be a reboot of the franchise, none of the original actors, including Abhishek Bachchan or Uday Chopra, are likely to reprise their roles. The film will feature two new actors from the younger generation to take on the roles of the cop duo, giving the series a fresh start. The casting process for these roles is currently underway.
Filming for Dhoom 4 is expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026, once Ranbir completes his commitments to other big projects like Love And War and Ramayana. Fans are particularly excited about this being the 25th film in Ranbir Kapoor’s illustrious career, marking a major milestone for the actor.
