In the recent episode of the Above The Influence Show podcast, disturbing claims about BLACKPINK’s Jennie were made. Following the backlash, the official Instagram account of the podcast show issued a statement.

Above The Influence Show Responds To Backlash

The podcast team responded with an apology. Woohak clarified that he never saw any video evidence. Kira also shared a story she heard and stated that they were discussing rumours, not facts. The hosts said their goal was to talk about dark industry topics, not attack Jennie. They later deleted the episode due to backlash, but clips went viral. They also mentioned that the clips came from a paid bonus content platform, not meant for wide release. Someone leaked the footage, cutting out context to make it seem malicious. Lastly, they expressed regret for repeating gossip that could hurt her and promised to be more careful in the future.

It’s important to note that fans weren’t convinced with their apology. One user wrote, “I’m so disgusted and appalled. Jennie has worked incredibly hard for everything she’s achieved. She’s talented, successful, and constantly under scrutiny — and now someone thinks it’s okay to try to tear her down with cheap gossip? It’s pathetic.” Another user wrote, “That’s not going to save you from the potential lawsuit that Jennie’s team and IU have against you; your apologies go straight to the bathroom.”
