Since the past few days, the news around Diljit Dosanjh starrer Sardaar Ji 3 controversy has been going around. Many actors and artists have commented on it, while some supported the actor-singer, others bashed him. Now, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has also made his statement on the matter through a video. He shared a clip of Diljit’s video and one of his own from an old interview. Read on to know more about it.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s Comment
Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya took to his social media handle to share a collage of two videos. One of the videos is from Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour, in which he is heard saying, “Hindustan kisike baap ka thodi hai” (Hindustan is not owned by anyone’s father). In response to this, Abhijeet shared a clip of his old interview in which he says that India belonged to our fathers, their fathers and their forefathers.
In the caption, he reiterated the line and again wrote that Hindustan belonged to our fathers. The comment section under the post is switched off.

For the unversed, the controversy started when Diljit Dosanjh shared the trailer of his film Sardaar Ji 3 starring Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. This happened when India banned Pakistani artists following the Pahalgam attack on tourists.

Singer Mika Singh was one of the first celebrities to react to this controversy. He slammed the singer for promoting his film amid the India-Pakistan tension. Even Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly also criticised Diljit Dosanjh. However, senior artists from the industry like Javed Akhtar and Naseeruddin Shah spoke in support of the actor.
