Split, Zootopia, Dear Zindagi And More Films From 2016 That Will Forever Remain Our Favourite!

The 2016 trend has brought back so many memories. Many celebrities have also contributed to making this trend popular on social media. Well, it’s not wrong to say that life was indeed quite easy and happy back then! And now, we are all adults. Anyway, some of the best and my favourite movies also released on 2016. It was a year of some memorable thrillers, rom-coms, dramas, animated films and so much more. Here’s a list of some of my favourites. I will try to keep the list short, try!

Split

This film is the second installment from the Unbreakable trilogy directed and written by M Night Shyamlan. James McAvoy was absolutely phenomenal in this edgy and crisp thriller. I can’t recommend it enough!

Dear Zindagi

Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan’s film was way ahead of its time! It shed light on normalising therapy and sent across a strong message in a rather gentle way. The storytelling, performances and songs still remains close to my heart.

Trapped

This still remains one of my favourite Rajkummar Rao films. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Trapped gave us an immersive experience, and not in a good way! We want more such films.

Zootopia

In 2025, without a doubt Zootopia 2 became my favourite movie of the year. The first ever film from this franchise was released in 2016, and the heartwarming story gave us the best cop duo- Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Forever grateful!

Hush

Still feeling the goosebumps from this film. It’s a survival thriller that revolved around a deaf and dumb writer who got trapped in her house with a killer outside. You will be hooked throughout!
