2026 just got better because a 26-year-old woman from Jammu and Kashmir is set to create history. The woman in question is none other than Simran Bala, the Assistant Commandant at the Central Reserve Police Force. She will make history on the upcoming Republic Day by leading the all-male CRPF unit during the parade. At this point, is there any field left that women have not taken over? We don’t think so! Who Is Simran Bala?
Simran Bala, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, has truly won everyone’s hearts! She is from Nowshera village, one of the regions affected by the India-Pakistan conflicts. But Simran did not let anything come in her way and made everyone proud by joining the CRPF. On the 77th Republic Day, she will become the first woman officer to command over 140 male personnel during the ceremonial march.
However, this isn’t the first time she has created history! As per reports, Simran was the only woman candidate from Jammu and Kashmir to clear the UPSC CAPF exam in May 2023. She passed on her first attempt and got 82nd All India Rank among 151 candidates. She did this while fulfilling her academic duties in college. Simran also created history by becoming the first woman from J&K to join the CRPF as an officer.
