The city of Delhi is known for its food, the fun, the culture, but more importantly, for how it’s not a safe place for a woman to live freely. Many have come ahead and shared their unfortunate experiences of harassment on the road, and our heart goes out to each who had to encounter such scary incidents. In the recent episode of Hauterrfly’s show 2 AM, hosted by Janvi Manchanda, Delhi Crime star Shefali Shah shared a similar experience of when she was walking on a road in Delhi. What Shefali Shah Said
During the exclusive chat, Shefali Shah said, “When I was in school, I used to walk back to my house every day. So one day, when I was coming back, there was a man on the other side of the road, and I was walking, so I just crossed the road, and he also crossed the road with me and started walking towards me. And what do you do in such situations when you’re alone because there’s no one on the streets?” This incident sent us chills down the throat as one can’t imagine dealing with this while being in school and so young.
During the same conversation, the cast of Delhi Crime 3 was asked if they used to go around the town with their girl friends. To this, Huma Qureshi said, “Leave night, we just used to go out during the daytime. We girls used to go together in a group if one of us wanted to get piercings done. And I remember this one time when we were going in a big group, we were both girls and guys together, when another man tried teasing one of us. And then it got a bit chaotic, so I remember just running away.” Such incidents remind us of how unsafe one can be in a city, even when we’re in a group.
