I had given up on chemical-laden beauty products as soon as I realised how toxic they are for my hair and skin. However, it took me some time to realise that a lot of skincare and makeup brands that I had in my drawers were still toxic, maybe not for me but for the environment. Beauty industry is infamous for harming the ecosystem by not only using plastic predominantly for their products and packaging and generating waste but also hurting animals. A number of brands are not taking a kinder approach to beauty and as customers, we should support the brands that do. How? By opting for vegan brands.
Vegan brands are those which steer clear from using animal-derived ingredients like milk extracts, beeswax, honey and other byproducts of our furry (or flying) friends and rather stick to only natural and plant-based ingredients in their products.
