Well, get ready to cringe because we’ve got one for you today.
I live in Silk Board, the flyover of my dreams 😶🌫️
A decent underwear costs Rs 245. People need at least 6 pairs of underwear, but if you are poor 3 will do. But did you know spending on underwear will cost you lakhs? 🤯😲🤯
Here's why I won't buy underwear🧵 pic.twitter.com/AVFIWR6jAv

Recently, a tweet by a user called Eternal Fool went viral on Twitter. And boy, was it a doozy. According to this genius, you could save a ton of money by ditching your underwear. Yes, you read that right. Apparently, all you have to do is go commando and watch the savings roll in.
Instead, you can make underwear from used newspaper for just Rs 299.
Ok, you can argue newspaper won't last long. Fair. pic.twitter.com/18cjxBLMUX

Now, before you start stripping down and going all Free Willy on us, let’s break this down. Eternal Fool’s calculations show that the average person spends about ₹245 on a single pair of basic undies. And if you’re like most people, you need at least six pairs to make it through the week. That adds up to a whopping ₹1470! But if you swear off underwear altogether, you could save yourself a bundle in the long run.
Ok, leaves are not acceptable in civilized society. You can make your own underwear for less than Rs 80. per kilo of Used clothes cost less than Rs 80 and you can make 100s of underwears. You can even sell then as recycled underwear for Rs 100 per underwear #Entrepreneurship pic.twitter.com/SubFQUq6qp

But wait, there’s more. Eternal Fool suggests investing that ₹1470 in a 12% index fund, which could potentially earn you over ₹40,000 in returns. So, in theory, you could use your underwear savings to become a millionaire. Talk about a wild ride.
But WAITTT! You didn't consider underwear inflation. According to RBI and the Ministry Of Textiles, the average underwear inflation in India is 8%. If you had instead invested at 12% in index fund and increased your SIP by 8% every year, you would've saved Rs 1.1 crore 🤯🤯🤯 pic.twitter.com/qaDCQbx5s2

One user commented about how he did consider the fact of underwear sharing between same-sex couples.
Sure, the whole ‘going commando to save money’ thing may sound tempting, but let’s not forget that this advice is coming from a man. And as much as I hate to break it to you, ladies, going without underwear isn’t always an option for us.
Let’s be real, we have to deal with vaginal discharges and periods. So unless you want to rock the whole ‘red pantsuit’ look once a month, you’re going to need some undies. And let’s not forget about the discomfort and potential health risks that come with not wearing underwear.
The world is getting hotter due to climate change, which means chafing will increase, which means, underwear will tear faster. So you'll need 6 more underwear every year.
So Rs 1470 (1470/12=122) every year at 12% for 50 years = 48 lakhs 🤯

So while it may be easy for some men to go without underwear, let’s not forget that this advice is limited to their gender. So ladies, don’t let this article make you feel like you’re missing out on some revolutionary money-saving hack. Stick to your undies and keep slaying.
Indians are unhappy with Rs 245 spending on a underwear but monthly paying Rs 159 for ad free youtube premium 😂😂

One simple way to bridge the underwear inequality is to give: cheaper undies to poor, and expensive undies to the rich.
With cheaper undies, poorer can take more risks.
And, avail expensive undies that rich have.

And just when you thought things couldn’t get any crazier, Eternal Fool even suggests making underwear out of newspapers. Yes, you read that right. Apparently, you can fashion yourself a pair of undies for just 299 bucks. But let’s be real, that’s just plain silly.
Whether or not you decide to follow Eternal Fool’s advice and ditch your underwear in the pursuit of financial freedom is up to you. But before you go tossing your undies out the window, it’s worth remembering that there are plenty of other ways to save money that don’t involve going commando.
