US Women Intend To Go On Sex Strike After Roe V Wade Overturning, Say “If I Have No Right To My Body, Men Don’t Either”
There is a huge uproar in the US and all across the world after the US court struck down the Roe V Wade decision that allowed women to have abortions. Women have taken to the streets to protest against the repeal of abortion laws and in view of the same, are now deciding to go on a sex strike. #SexStrike has begun trending on Twitter where women are stating that they will not have sex with men owing to the retraction of the abortion laws.
A report by Wion has quoted a woman named Brianna Campbell who has said that men who will not have a vasectomy done or even those who have not been supporting women in the strike, did not ‘deserve’ to have sex with her. A lot of women have come in support of the sex strike and said that if they do not have the right to abortions when it is the men who do not prefer to use condoms, they will not have sex with such men. One of the Twitter users wrote, “If I have no right to my body, men have no right to it either.” Another wrote that in view of the sex strike, they will not have sex even with their husbands unless they are trying to get pregnant. One of them also tweeted, “Be an ally and support us women AGAINST forced birth ; speak up and help us fight for abortion rights ; sign petitions and join protests.”

The US court bench overturned the Roe V Wade case by a 6-3 majority which now makes abortions illegal in most states there. Women have called this to be a blow to their rights and are heavily protesting against the ruling.
