Style File: Comfy Co-ord Set Was The Trendiest Look Of The Week And These Stars Got The Memo
All dressed up and nowhere to go was a big mood of 2020 and it almost feels like we are living it all over again. The only difference this time is we have lost hope which we were certainly full of. This month last year, we thought we would finally be free of Covid in a few months (lol) because maybe the scorching heat would do the trick, or the vaccination drive will start or the virus would simply leave the face of earth. That is probably why we stopped ourselves from glamming up and we waited for the pandemic to get over to put on our best clothes. But screw that now. We have learned to live stylishly even in the quarantine. We dress up for video meets and virtual events certainly don’t save the outfits for “when things get normal”. And so are the celebrities.
Barring the few who have unfortunately contracted the virus, all the celebrities are keeping their style statement on fleek, with a mask on, of course. Take a look at last week’s looks and you’ll agree. We saw some really cool celebrity outfits featuring co-ord sets that are the official summer staple this year. A co-ord set is comfy, versatile and effortlessly stylish. It is totally worth investing in since you can create a bunch of different looks with a multiple-piece clothing set. It only makes sense in the pandemic, IMO because it lets you experiment with styles and score a bevy of looks with just one outfit. If you are thinking of slipping into your yoga pants and sweats again, you need to see this. Ileana D’Cruz wore this boho chic outfit which has a wrap skirt, a sexy tie-up crop top and a shrug–all in serene white silk. I can already imagine wearing the crop top with denims and teaming this skirt with a traditional jacket to make a contemporary Indian wear for a summer wedding. Rakul Preet’s co-ords look so comfy I could wear it all day for WFH and even for my Zoom party in the evening. Does it mean it is the best desk-to drinks outfit in a lockdown setting? We think so! The barely-there bandeau, relaxed shorts and the oversized jacket in cool blue checks all the boxes for us. Oh, that also reminds me; the check print? Classic summer style!

Another very cozy and breezy co-ord set was sported by Bhumi Pednekar last week which was more on the traditional spectrum of style and we love it. Why? Because firstly, it’s actually a task to find an Indian wear that’s this comfy and stylish at the same time, and secondly, it’s so minimal and elegant. She wore a flowy blue skirt and top set by Raisin Global which she accessorised with traditional silver jewellery.

Pantsuits are the ultimate workwear outfit that even pandemic couldn’t change our minds about. Tamannaah Bhatia wore a blue pantsuit with a high-waisted pleated pants and cropped jacket and teamed with a corset style top underneath. Although there are comfier options with jogger pants and light fabric instead of stiffer styles, this three-piece suit also looks pretty fuss-free.

If there’s one celebrity who always puts comfort over everything, it is Vidya Balan. She often wears cotton sarees and flowy outfits but this time she chose another very summery look with cool separates. She wore striped pants, white top and a long printed shrug over it. You could style all the pieces separately and make a bunch of summer-apt outfits. No wonder, co-ords are the current favourite of the stars this season.
