Shawn Mendes Released A New Breakup Song ‘It’ll Be Okay,’ After Recent Split From Camila Cabello.

Many songwriters and singers have admitted that they do take inspiration from their current or past relationships to write songs and Shawn Mendes is one of them. And it seems like his recent breakup comes with that silver lining of inspiration. On Wednesday, the 23-year old singer released an emotional breakup ballad “It’ll Be Okay.” Shawn released this song two weeks after he and Havana singer, Camila Cabello ended their romantic relationship. Looks like the ‘Wonder’ singer is wearing his heart on his sleeves, these days!

“It’ll Be Okay” is a soft, piano-backed melancholic track. As Shawn Mendes sings in his sweet voice, the lyrics, “the future we dreamed of is fading to black,” which describe that a turbulent relationship is coming to an end. As he repeatedly sings “it’ll be okay,” the breakup song transitions into a hopeful and healing journey which gives a sign to accept fate and motivates to move on from a difficult and dark phase of life or in this situation, a painful breakup.

On Tuesday, Shawn took to his Instagram handle and announced the song’s release, and teased the lyrics that said, “Are we gonna make it? / Is this gonna hurt?” On the morning of the song’s release day, the singer shared a picture of a sun illuminating a beach with an orange glow. “It feels like I haven’t truly connected with you guys in a while. I miss you. I hope you love this song,” he wrote in the caption.
