Sarcastic Tweet About Vicky Kaushal’s Career After Marriage Is A Surgical Strike On Sexism Actresses Face
For the past few weeks, I’ve had a serious case of FOMO looking at all these weddings taking place. And now seeing Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif posting pictures of their wedding, my case of FOMO is on another level. However, I often found myself wondering how it is now going to be for Katrina Kaif, you know, now that she is married. Didn’t understand? Let me explain. Whenever an actress gets married or has a child, the media often questions them along the lines of are you going to be working now that you’re married/have a child(ren), what has changed since you have been married, will you have any kind of restrictions/limitations in the kind of movies you will do, etc. but the actors who get married getaway easily since no one ever asks them such questions. Is it sexist? Definitely! However, I honestly had an amazing time when I read a sarcastic tweet made by a Twitter user about Vicky Kaushal’s career now that he is married. And trust me the replies on the tweet are hilarious and an attack on the sexism actresses face.
A Twitter user, @PWNeha, recently made a very sarcastic tweet about Vicky Kaushal’s career now that he is married to Katrina Kaif and it highlights the sexist behaviour the actresses have to face whenever they get married or even have a child(ren).
Wondering if Vicky Kaushal will continue to work after marriage.

The tweet read, “Wondering if Vicky Kaushal will continue to work after marriage.” As though the tweet was not enough the replies in the comment section were even more sarcastic and brutal as well as passive-aggressive. Reading the comment section literally underlined the sexism that the tweet was pointing at.

In fact, I even compiled a list of some of my favourite sarcastic and passive-aggressive comments that the tweet got. Here they are:
Of course, it's the 21st century. But he should just keep in mind that he's someone's husband and son-in-law while picking roles. Nothing like that crude movie Manmarziyaan anymore.

Ya that’s very big of her but I think he should have babies and focus on family now

Why should he? Isn't she earning enough for both of them?! He will happily take care of the kitchen and kids. Don't pressure men into doing things they don't want to do.

I am pretty sure, Kat will allow Vicky to work for now. Her family is very progressive. But he should take a break and take care of the new family first, and once his wife is happy, he should be allowed to work. After all, his place is at home na. Not too much work. 1 film a year

Bigger question is, will audience even want to see a married actor?
— Edgar Allan Poeha (@vaniIlaessence) December 13, 2021
He really shouldn’t be. I mean he’s married such a successful actress. She needs support to be able to continue doing it. Someone needs to do the household stuff na. Managing in-laws and then eventually kids.
He’s someone’s husband now. Sab ese khula khula thodi reh sakta hai— 🌺🌿 (@itsclasssified) December 14, 2021

Going through the comment section, I realised that many actresses have spoken about it earlier. Priyanka Chopra Jonas in an interview with a few comedians spoke about how frustrating it was that she was constantly being asked about how she has changed after marriage. In fact, even Kareena Kapoor Khan faced sexism when media personnel asked her whether there are going to be any sort of limitations in the kind of movies she will do – and all of this is just because she was married! Honestly, I’m glad that someone called out the sexism, I mean, it is about time, don’t you think?
