When Ratan Tata Defended A Woman Online Who Called Him ‘Chotu’

If there is one man who is loved, adored and respected by people of all ages and generations it is Ratan Tata. The Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons is known for his humility and simplicity always wins hearts, even online. Well, it is the legend’s birthday today, and what better day than this to look back at one of the incidents when he defended a woman online who called ‘chotu’.

Earlier this year, Rata Tata garnered a million followers on Instagram. And to mark this occasion, he took to the photo-sharing platform to write a sweet note thanking all his followers. He also shared a photo of him sitting cross-legged on the floor and wrote in the caption, “I’ve just seen that the number of people on this page has reached a milestone. This wonderful online family is not what I expected when I joined Instagram and I have you to thank for it.”

While a lot of people congratulated him for reaching the milestone online, one particular woman wrote, “Congratulations chotu (red heart emoji).” She was, of course, incessantly trolled online to the point that she had to delete the comment. But Ratan Tata replied to her comment by writing, “There is a child in each one of us. Please treat this young lady with respect. :)” Not just this, he also took to his Instagram stories and wrote that he appreciated her comment and hopes she will not refrain from commenting again because of the trolling.

This is not the first time that Rata Tataji has been kind. He once helped a female entrepreneur with her business that helped her scale new heights. Aditi Bhosale Walunj, the founder of a business venture named Repos, shared on LinkedIn how she met Ratan Tata sir and how he helped her. She also shared a series of pictures with him.
