Neha Kakkar’s MUA Spills The Beans On Her Bridal Makeup Looks And Give Out Some Pro Tips. Brides-To-Be, Take Notes!

If you’ve seen Neha Kakkar’s wedding picture…wait! Who am I kidding? Of course, you have. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have seen the pictures because they are literally all over the social media. The five wedding functions were wrapped up in two days and her Insta fam ‘Nehearts’ have been sharing the pictures of happy bride and groom since. So, as I was saying, if you’ve seen the gorgeous pictures from the NehuPreet’s wedding, I am sure you swooned over her two very different but equally stunning bridal makeup looks, especially, if you are going to be a bride yourself soon.

For her Anand Karaj ceremony, which is a daytime wedding in a gurudwara according to Sikh customs, Neha opted a blish pink Sabyasahi lehenga and kept her makeup very minimal in nude tones while for the night time ceremony, which was a Hindu wedding, she wore a fire red lehenga by Falguni and Shane Peacock and stepped up the glam with red lip and bejewelled liner. Both her looks were created by her friend-cum-makeup artist Vibha Gusain.

Well, the good news is that Vibha recently spilled all the deets about how she conceptualised Neha’s bridal looks and also gave out some brilliant makeup tips for all the brides-to-be out there. If you have a wedding on cards this season, you might want to take out a pen and paper and note these tips. Just saying!

For the day wedding, Vibha kept Neha’s makeup pretty natural and minimal to go with her pastel lehenga. She said because the lehenga had a rich embroidery and jewellery was quite heavy too, she wanted to keep makeup as minimal as possible. She chose to give Neha a dewy base, flushed cheeks, pink lips and defined brows and lashes. She told Times Now, “I used single eyelashes because it’s easier to blend individual lashes in with your natural lashes for a much more realistic look. One can also use a regular natural strip lash and finish the look with lots of mascara,”

She completed the look with a red bindi. “The idea was to make the look timeless so that if you look at the pictures after ten years from now the look is still in trend and looks modern and glam,” she said.

If you want the similar look, Vibha even spelt it out for you. She said, “One way to make a foundation look natural is to thin it out. For a natural look, use oil under your foundation and prep the skin well. Once you finish the foundation, you can conceal the areas that need more coverage. To get the flush, add a little bit of cream blush on the apples of the cheeks and define the eyebrows well but because the look is simple and subtle, you can go strong with the eyebrows.” This look was all about skin so she stressed on doing the skin-prep really well before you go on with the makeup. “Prep the lips well, scrub moisturise and then apply the lipstick. Finish the look with the lip liner. Apply the lipstick first and then create the shape with the lip liner,” she added.

The other makeup look was completely different. It features statement eye makeup and a dramatic red lip to go with her red bridal lehenga. Vibha used Swarovski crystal on Neha’s lash line to give her a bedazzling eye makeup look, teamed with a matte red pout, subtly blurred but gorgeous. Talking about this particular look, she said, “This look had to be unique because we had already done glitter, matte, sparkle… so we thought of adding stones on her eyes. Also, it complimented her red lehenga.”

While her makeup for day wedding was minimalistic and simple, this one was high on glam but still didn’t look OTT with her red outfit, rather looked so beautiful and in sync with the bridal look. Also, a crystal stone liner for a bridal makeup? Are we sensing a new makeup trend for brides?
