The festive season has been kicked off with Navratri 2022 on in full swing! I know that you are very excited about Navratri this year because you will get to do Garba after two whole years! Apart from all the shopping for chaniyas, cholis, dupattas, oxidised jewellery, and make-up, you also need to be at the top of your Garba game! Because you don’t want to be the one standing on the sidelines learning the steps on the go, do you? In order to avoid wasting time just learning the steps on the ground itself, you need to know the types of Garba that mostly people play. So, here are the types of Garba that people normally do on the grounds!
Ek Taali Garba
The most common and easiest type of step in Garba is the ek taali step which is the one clap step. You clap your hands only once in this step and adapt to clapping as per the tune of the song.
Bey Taali Garba
As the name suggests, here you have the clap twice in one set of a Garba step. Usually, you clap once while your body is facing inward the circle and you clap the second time after you twirl outward.
Tran Taali Garba
Here, you have to clap thrice to complete one circle of Garba. But the catch here is you clap three times consecutively and then you either take a twirl and repeat the step or you take a complete circle.
Dandiya
Well, if you are tired of clapping while doing Garba, then here come the dandiyas to your rescue! Usually, dandiyas are played in pairs but these days, you can replace your hand movements with dandiya as well. But please be mindful of not hurting your partner with the dandiya while doing Garba!
Dodhiyu
Dodhiyu is one of the tad bit complex Garba styles which includes 6 steps in total. In this step, you can do two steps in the front and the other four by going backwards. You can change the permutations and combinations of the step as per your style as well! But Dodhiyu looks better when the entire group plays it together because seeing all the player dancing in synchronised steps looks amazing!

Hinch
This is one of the easiest steps wherein you just have to take a dip forward and move your hands as if you are scooping something and putting it on your shoulder. You can either repeat the steps twice on the right and the left side or you can just do it on either side once and can twirl to repeat the steps.
’tis is the season, ladies, to learn these popular steps so what are you waiting for? Start learning them already! Who knows? Your crush might want to pair up with you for some Navratri jam!
